Some British Tabloid apparently obtained photos of Michael Phelps smoking pot from a glass bong at a Nov. 8 “college party” in Columbia, S.C., forcing Phelps, pictured above, to fess up and apologize in apparently the capital of Saudi Arabia. His apology is very mild - he said he was being immature and inappropriate and not acting in the way “people have come to expect from me,” as if it is his responsibility to try to win the approval of the nameless masses, and it is assumed that they are offended by the message pot smoking sends.
Of course, the people “disappointed” in Phelps’ harmless pot smoking should be more “dissapointed” in the “message” his unhealthy eating habits could send to the masses. And they would be REALLY “disappointed” in his conviction for driving while impaired after returning from a party (he had .08 BAC) in Nov. 2004, when he was an underage 19. But its difficult finding a statement noting this disappointment.

I actually have grown to like him even more...it shows that hes still young and relateable to the masses and not just this swimming phenomenon. And he listens to Wayne lol. Id party with his ass any day of the week!
